Thanks to the indicators and metrics that gemiusAudience provides, the process of media planning has become much easier. Below we there are presented definitions of the most vital terms directly related to measuring Internet audience. There are also included definitions of metrics generated thanks to the gemiusExplorer application. The number of individuals in a given month who visited the selected web site at least once. This number represents the reach of the web site and shows the actual number of people – not computers or cookies – that visited the web site. It is possible to determine the socio-demographic profile of these people. Page View – loading of a WWW document of a given Internet web site. When an Internet user views a web page, this generates a Page View. The Page View is recorded through a special tracking script that has been placed in the code of the relevant web page. The time between subsequent page views measured in seconds. A series of page views on the Internet not interrupted by a pause exceeding 30 minutes. The estimated number of Internet users from the given target group who generated at least one Page View on the selected web site in the given month. This indicator relates to the actual number of persons (not computers, cookies, or IP addresses) who visited the web site within a given month. The number of Page Views generated by the given target group on the selected web site or web sites within a given time period. The total time spent by all visitors (real users) on the selected web site. The figure is given in hours. The total time spent by the average visitor (real user) from the given target group on the selected web site or web sites. The average time between two Page Views within the same visit, generated by the given target group on the selected web site or web sites within a given time period. Time that the average user from the selected target group had the application running on his computer during the selected time period (“running” in this case means present in the list of active processes). The number of Page Views on the selected web site generated by the average Visitor from the given target group within a given time period. The number of sessions generated by the average visitor from the given target group within a given time period. The indicator is expressed in per cents and it constitutes the ratio of the number of visitors (real users) who generated at least one page view on the selected web site within the given time period to the total number of Internet users within a given time period. The ratio of audience composition in the given target group on the selected web site to the audience composition in the given target group for the whole Internet. The indicator is expressed as a percentage; it is the ratio of visitors (real users) from a given target group who visited the selected web site, to the total number of visitors (real users) on the selected web site in a given time period. The indicator is expressed as a percentage; it is the ratio of page views generated by a given target group on the selected web site to the number of page views generated by all visitors (real users) on the selected web site in a given time period.
